Every year our capital shines with decorative lighting during the night, marks his Majesty's Birthday. Eventhough this year, all events are cancel due to the spreading of the Influenza A, H1N1 Flu, but with motivation i want to capture pictures of our capital this year.. sigma 10-20mm at 20mm/ shutter release cable/ tripod/ aperture : f/5.6

/ shutter speed : various (BULB)/ white balance: auto/ manual focus.

it was nearly around 2.30am, could'nt resist the sound of thunderstorms, (actually could'nt sleep), set up my camera on my tripod plug in shutter release cable, wearing the Sigma 10-20mm, coz my Nikkor 18-200mm is with my dad.

really lost a few nice shot while setting up, not long after my set up just about 5 secs got the first shot, then around 30secs got the second shot..

for the third & forth shots the thunder clouds was bout to fade so that's why the lightning strike isn't reach it's longest strike, and it tooks me around 15mins-30mins from the second lightning shot.

i'm still eager to shot some more of lightnings in the future... better watch the weather forecast... maybe tonight???? hehehehehe....

HOW TO SHOT STAR TRAILS.

SETTINGS FOR STAR TRAILS

iso: lowest iso possible (e.g. 100/200).

aperture : f/3.5 (use widest aperture).

shutter speed : BULB.

MANUAL MODE.

WB : auto.

Focus : manual focus (use infinity).

a shutter release cable / remote.

stop watch to record how many minute you are aimming for.

Make sure you are aimming at a dark area. no lights at the focus distances, (you're picture will be overexposed or burst).

After you have release you shutter, don't be worry if there are no picture in your moniter, this due to the camera is processing your picture (please DON'T turn off your camera, untill the picture you've taken has turn out in your view monitor). It will take at least if you take the picture for 5mins the process with take up to 10mins.

Been longing to do star trails, luckily last night there were lots of sparkling stars from little to big ones for me to do my first trial version. 1st picture take me around 5 mins & the 2nd picture takes me around 20 mins... Will do more again of these light trails.Enjoy....

Tuesday evening, sighted this beautiful rainbow from my parent's home...trying to capture first from my parent's home but full of distractions of overhead electrical cables. So captured this shot while on line queue to fill up gas at the Tutong's Filling Station...

Did'nt managed to shot the end of the rainbow... where in folk tales, there are golds at the end of a rainbow....hehehehe
